Vanilla Vs. Chocolate!

Hahah I wanted to post this essay I wrote... Hahaha it was so fun to write! :D

Vanilla Vs. Chocolate

Chocolate, chocolate chocolate. It is definitely one of the most overrated things in this day and age. When you need a pick me up, eat chocolate. Need a gift, buy some chocolate, you can't go wrong. Yes, chocolate may be tasty, but also think of vanilla. Vanilla can be all these things, and more.

One point of chocolate is the "eat me, and your troubles will not be so bad" point. Ask anyone, and they can probably name an endless list of movies they have seen when the girl has had a break up and is consoling herself with a box of chocolates and a tub of Ben and Jerry's chocolate ice cream. It never really helps, does it? Now think of vanilla. Maybe if the girl in the movie had had some vanilla frozen yogurt, she would not have had that "tomorrow I am going to have to run 6 km. on the treadmill and do 150 crunches" thought running through her mind, which just made her think of the boy she had been trying to keep up her appearance for.

Another point is that chocolate has become unoriginal. A hundred years ago buying chocolates for your girl was a big ordeal. Now it just shows you have really no imagination. It is something you can buy in any store, and is often fairly inexpensive. Yes, you can get chocolate that costs a fortune and a half, but is it really much better than a Mars Bar you can buy in any old convenience store? Now, you can't exactly buy someone vanilla as a gift, but you could buy something vanilla scented, or take them out for a delicious vanilla ice cream and some time together, that they will most likely remember more fondly than the heart box that gets thrown into a closet, or garbage can.

Now, the taste. Yes, chocolate is very good. But think of how heavy it is. Think of how it clogs your throat, and how it makes your stomach feel just slightly off. Vanilla has a sweet taste that is light and soothing. It slides down your throat, and does not make you feel ill in the least. There is something about vanilla that makes you wake up. Is there anything better than having a cup of vanilla yogurt and berries with your cereal in the morning. Oh, and the smell. Vanilla perfumes are so summer-y, and light, while who would want to smell like chocolate all day?

Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with chocolate. It has many different, wonderful tastes and is useful for many things. But vanilla is so underestimated, yet so wonderful, and the taste is like nothing else. It can beat chocolate any day.

MORIACLE!!!:)

  1. Awesome post! Love the chocolate picture.

I will say though: when given the choice I will always go for chocolate pudding. However, when it comes to yogurt, Vanilla is teh best!
